Don’t sweat getting wet!
SolRX™ was originally created to meet the endurance needs of triathletes – waterproof, long-lasting, won’t run or burn your eyes. But like you, we don’t quit. We are always refining and learning– leading the ‘reef-friendly’ movement, adding lighter formulas, and eliminating harmful chemicals. But we respect our deep roots in fitness and wellness and always test our products both in the lab and in the field. We’ve learned through years of athlete feedback exactly what healthy and active people want in sun protection:
- Ultimate water and sweat resistance
- Broad spectrum UVA & UVB protection
- Reef friendly to protect the places we play and work
- Sunscreen that goes on and stays put
- Commitment to the highest quality ingredients
- Fragrance free formulas
SolRX is like a ‘prescription for sun protection’.
We believe good sunscreen is part of a whole-body wellness approach to living. We work with dermatologists to develop sun care that protects you from sunburn now and premature ageing later. Every SolRX product is clinically-tested up to and beyond the FDA standards for Sport Sunscreens. Our commitment is creating the ultimate medical-grade sunscreens that keep you healthy – so you can enjoy active outdoor lives.
We are so proud to be part of Team Qhubeka ASSOS who have been on fire at the 2021 Giro d’Italia. Max Walscheid ensured the team ended the race on a high note, as he placed 6th on the final stage.
The final stage of the Giro d’Italia saw the riders have to take on a 30km individual time trial from Senago to Milan, finishing in front of the Duomo di Milano.
Max Walscheid, continued to show his time trialing abilities are ever improving as he set a blistering time over the mostly flat course to momentarily move into the hot seat.
After already taking 8th on the opening stage time trial, Walscheid put in another stellar performance against the clock as his time during stage 21 would be good enough for 6th place on the day.
Congratulations to this amazing team, with a special mention for Mauro Schmid, Giacomo Nizzolo and Victor Campenaerts (supported by teammates Maxwal Scheid and Lukas Zwisniowski) who took out stages 11, 13 and 15 respectively. “We cannot go alone, we’re stronger as a team together, and the spirit we have in the Giro is building up to an even greater spirit. Our mission as a team is to change lives with bicycles and the Qhubeka Charity, these successes mean that we play our part in changing the world.” – Victor Campenaerts, 2021.
Victor Campenaerts, after winning stage 15 of the Giro d’Italia, was forced to withdraw from the race due to a leg injury. The Team Qhubeka ASSOS rider experienced pain in his right knee during the cold and wet conditions on stage 16 but managed to finish in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Following extensive treatment to a tendon problem on Monday evening and then subsequently on Tuesday’s rest day, it was decided by the team’s medical staff that he should withdraw to reduce risk of further aggravating the injury.
Campenaerts leaves the race having put in consistently impressive performances for the team culminating with his victory in Gorizia, Team Qhubeka ASSOS’ third win of the 104th Giro d’Italia.
Team Qhubeka Assos race for change and regardless of the challenges they face, they never give up. (and neither does their SolRX sunscreen #UltimateSportSunscreen).
In other Team Qhubeka ASSOS news, Nicholas Dlamini has been selected to represent Team South Africa at the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games in July.
He will be joined by Darryl Impey, Ryan Gibbons, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio and in the Carla Oberholzer in the road cycling discipline. Follow @SolRX_sa on social media to keep up to date as news of this exciting competition breaks.
For athletes, lifeguards, surfers and snowboarders alike, SolRX WATERBLOCK® water resistant sunscreen has been trusted to protect against UVA and UVB rays for over 20 years. Originally designed for triathletes, swimmers, runners, surfers, general outdoor fanatics, our water resistant sunscreens are broad spectrum, eco-friendly and will not burn your eyes if you sweat.
All water resistant sunscreens on the market must pass FDA restrictions, but unlike other sunscreens, SolRX WATERBLOCK® has taken the extra step by being tested by AMA Testing labs’ 8 hour immersion test. The test revealed that SolRX WATERBLOCK® protects athletes from the sun for 480 minutes compared to the typical 80 minutes when being in and out of the water. SolRX water resistant sunscreen has consistently been rated at the top of its industry, possibly explaining why most other sunscreen companies do not post their test results for public viewing. The proof is in the results!
SolRX™ was started with the belief that a healthy life includes a healthy amount of time spent outside. That love of the outdoors especially extends to our oceans and lakes. Our commitment to reef friendly products is in our DNA. All our products are 100% Oxybenzone free. Beyond that, our WATERBLOCK™ system stays in place until you release it with soap and water. So NO ingredients (not even zinc) will easily rinse off onto reefs. No other sunscreen can make that claim. We also proudly support Surfrider Foundation (surfrider.org), Sea Turtle Conservancy (conserveturtles.org) and other ocean related charities.
